Chinoiserie wallpaper was hand-painted in China for the British market in the 18th century as a result of a growing fashion for porcelain, silk and laquerware imported from China and Japan.

This design has been skilfully redrawn from a fragment of wallpaper in the V&A, which holds one of the finest collections of Chinese wallpapers. In a fusion of oriental style, Chinoiserie features an abundance of elegant pink blooms resting on an aqua ground with a contrasting ornamental lattice print reverse.
The duvet cover and oxford panel pillowcase are complemented with a housewife pillowcase, quilted throw, one size of curtains and cushion with decorative floral embroidery.
